Employment Law “Charge Response Attorney”

Troester Sharpe, P.C. is a 12-attorney management-side employment law defense firm. Our attorneys defend employers and provide legal strategies and HR solutions to improve workplaces and increase bottom line, while reducing legal exposure. Our clients include franchisees of global corporations, Fortune 500 companies, and small businesses.

We are looking for an attorney with a minimum of five years of employment law experience to join our team as a part-time or project-based “Charge Response Attorney” to respond to state and federal agency charges and attorney demand letters. This position has the potential to be full time. While our firm is based out of Northbrook, Illinois, this position has the flexibility to be fully remote.

Charge Response Attorney Responsibilities:

Responsible for responding to EEOC & state agency charges as well as attorney demand letters
Communicate with client to fully investigate facts
Propose defense strategies depending on exposure uncovered during investigation
Draft Position Statements
Negotiate Settlements or represent clients during remote mediations
Respond to agency requests for information
Defend client during agency interviews or remote fact-finding conferences
Spot exposure and counsel on best practices

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of employment law experience, with experience in the agency charge response process as described above, as well as experience counseling and effectively communicating with employer clients
Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to be focused, detail oriented, and “leave no stone unturned” in advocacy efforts on behalf of our employer clients
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced environment
Stellar academic credentials
Member in good standing of the bar of one or more states
Our practice is nationwide and includes extensive advice and counseling work with California employers. Candidates who are licensed in CA are encouraged to apply.

Troester Sharpe, P.C. offers a competitive salary structure as well as a robust offering of benefits to all of its employees and attorneys. Compensation is based upon the roles and responsibilities of the position, the experience and education of the applicant and/or employee and is aligned with internal pay equity within the firm itself. The hiring salary range for this position is between $65.00 per hour to $100.00 per hour. These figures are not representative of the full compensation range for this position.
